Tournaments

Hampshire FA affiliated grassroots tournaments, held in October and April, giving club teams the chance to compete against new opposition during the season.

Introduction

Why we run tournaments

We run our tournaments to give teams from across Hampshire and further afield the opportunity to compete and play against different opposition during the season, rather than only at the traditional off-season summer tournaments.

Our tournaments are affiliated by Hampshire FA and delivered in a safe, inclusive and well-organised environment. They are open to grassroots club teams rather than academy players, and we usually host one in October and one in April.

What parents say

Word from the touchline

Feedback from families who have joined our camps and programmes.

We honestly can't recommend James Beattie Football Academy enough! Our daughter was incredibly nervous before her first camp, but she came home with the biggest smile on her face and immediately asked when she could go back. A special shout out to Andy, who is absolutely incredible with the children.

A huge thank you for the last 3 days. It is the first time my son has ever attended a football camp. He, and all of his friends, had the absolute best time! So professionally run, organised, welcoming and great fun!

My son has just joined the U11 training academy and today he and my step son went along to the school holiday camp. They both had a brilliant day. Making the trips over from the Isle of Wight is 100% worth it to see the boys' faces beaming with pride and confidence.

The coaches are really friendly, professional and organised. Great way to keep them entertained over the school holidays and for a good price. He's already asking to go next time. Would definitely recommend.

Tournament questions

How our tournaments work, from entering a squad to what happens on the day.

Ask us anything

Our tournaments are for grassroots club teams from across Hampshire and further afield, organised by age group. They are not open to academy players, so every squad is a club side.

Matches are small-sided and played to FA-aligned rules for each age group, with a format that gives every player plenty of game time. Our tournaments are affiliated by Hampshire FA, and the full format and schedule are published for each event on the Events page.

Open the tournament on the Events page and follow the entry link, or contact us with your club, age group and number of players and we will help you get set up. We usually host one tournament in October and one in April.

There are trophies and awards for the winning teams and standout performers on the day. Not every team receives an award, so the focus is on competitive, well-organised football against new opposition.

Of course. Spectators are welcome at all of our tournaments. We simply ask that everyone supports positively and follows the venue's rules so the children can enjoy their football.
