We honestly can't recommend James Beattie Football Academy enough! Our daughter was incredibly nervous before her first camp, but she came home with the biggest smile on her face and immediately asked when she could go back. A special shout out to Andy, who is absolutely incredible with the children.
Term-time training programme
A 30-week development programme from September to May for U8s to U12s, coached by professional UEFA-qualified coaches and mentored by James Beattie.
Weekly coaching that builds players
Our term-time training programme runs for 30 weeks from September to May and is currently open to U8s to U12s, for both outfield players and goalkeepers looking for additional support and training. Places are offered through trials held each June.
Sessions are age appropriate and develop players technically while improving their decision making in small-group practices, with opportunities to train and play alongside like-minded players and to compete against professional and semi-professional clubs. Joining the programme does not affect playing for your local club.

Ask us anythingWhen does the programme run?
The term-time training programme runs for 30 weeks from September to May. U8s and U9s train on Fridays from 6pm to 7pm and U10s on Fridays from 5pm to 6pm, both at St George Catholic College in Southampton (SO16 3DQ). U11s and U12s train on Mondays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Cantell School in Southampton.
Which age groups can join?
The programme is currently open to U8s to U12s, boys and girls, and is suitable for both outfield players and goalkeepers looking for additional support and training.
How do we join?
Places are offered through trials held each June. Get in touch to register your interest and we will let you know the trial dates. If a place becomes available during the season we will contact families on the waiting list.
Can my child still play for their club?
Yes. The programme is designed to sit alongside club football, so joining does not impact playing for your local club. Many of our players also play for a grassroots team at the weekend.
What happens in bad weather?
We coach on all-weather pitches, so sessions go ahead in most conditions. Please send your child with clothing for the weather. If a session ever has to be cancelled for safety, we will let you know as early as possible.
